Thanks to Virgil Sampson for inviting me to show part of my sweater collection at the 2015 First Nations, Inuit and Metis Art Show at the Mary Winspear Centre in Sidney, BC. The show will be open until the end of August. This display is one of the reasons I collect old Cowichan sweaters. The Oldest Sweater

When Rodger Moore from Veregin Saskatchewan heard about the Great Canadian Knitting Tour he suggested I find the oldest sweater in the country. Good idea, I thought, but I think I already know where the oldest sweater is. So here is my challenge to you. Does anyone have an older sweater than this early version of the Cowichan?

Sweaters and Beyond

I'm looking for old Cowichan and Cowichan-esque sweaters that need a home. I intend to put on a show of sweaters in honour of Coast Salish knitters and knitters everywhere. The idea got started when my publisher, Diane Morris from Sono Nis, and I put together a sweater display for the launch of my book Working With Wool.
